Hello and welcome to Fair-Pix.
With Newcastle and Cambridge both over for another year we are at the half-way mark of the season. For many showmen this year has been a tougher one largely due to the Worldwide increases in cost of living. This of course has had a reflection in spending power amongst the fairgoers. A general comment has been of "surviving" rather than "earning", it appears the Continental counterparts are also finding this year a bit of a challenge.
On the subject of Europe, in July Fair-Pix will repeating visits of the fairs at Tilburg and Dusseldorf. The following weekend, one of our local tourist attractions Hollycombe Steam Collection will be holding its 1st Funfair Extravanga on the 26th & 27th July. Fair-Pix will be amongst those with exhibits on display. In 8 or 9 weeks time the 40th Great Dorset Steam Fair opens its gates to the public. To mark the occasion Great Dorset Funfairs opened recently on the Fair-Pix server to help celebrate the last 20 years of the funfair at GDSF.
